Mornings by the sea

Starting the day by the sea is just sauce for the soul. Whether it’s a walk, jog, paddleboard or swim, the benefits of the sea are numerous. We as humans have been drawn to living by the sea – there’s something about the sea air, the openness and calming effect it has on us.

Boosts your mental health

People living close to the coast experience lower mental distress, ward of depression and anxiety. Just simply looking out to sea can have positive effects on your mental state and wellbeing and the sound of the waves can be calming to our nervous system. A positive association with outdoor blue spaces can vastly improve your general health. Time to head to the beach or book a little trip!

The heart of man is very much like the sea, it has its storms, it has its tides and in its depths it has its pearls too

Active lifestyle

Fortunate to live by the coast, I find myself out walking, jogging, cycling or paddleboarding and meander my way to the sea. Summer sunrise sessions by the sea are sublime – the warm sea, a dip in the sea and the calm before the day gets going.

Coastal living

You’d either find me by a mountain lake or by the sea. Portsmouth and Southsea are my home – four miles of seafront, excellent green spaces and close to the Hampshire countryside.

My artwork is inspired by coastal living – from Southsea to Durdle Door, Atlantic to the Med 💙
